Cog railway for the beauties of the Giant Mountains

The Tanvald - Kořenov cog railway is the steepest cog railway in the Czech Republic. The cogwheel ride is one of the favorite excursion destinations in every season.
The track leads through the Jizera Mountains and the Giant Mountains to the Polish Sklářská Poreba and offers beautiful views of the nature of these mountains. In the building of the Kořenov railway station, at an altitude of 700 m above sea level, you will find the Cog Railway Museum, which describes the history and peculiarities of the operation of this line. The museum houses photographs illustrating the history of the track, rack models and small exhibits related to this unique technical monument. Historical sets and locomotives regularly leave the track, and various accompanying events take place on the track throughout the year. Every year, nostalgic rides are prepared for the Tanvald Railway Company for the summer season ( Special trains are assembled from historic vehicles and train guides are dressed in historic uniforms. You can combine a trip with a cogwheel with a walk from Harrachov to Mumlavské waterfalls or Harrachov ski jumps.
