Rieger`s house, situated in the present-day Rieger Square, is the last building preserved from the complex of the former Rieger`s Mill.

It was probably built as early as the end of the 15th century. Its owners also include the famous miller family Rieger with F. L. Rieger, the best known native of Semily. At that time, the mill became a centre of the social life in Semily.

In the course of history, almost none of its original appearance has survived. The only building of the entire complex to remain until the present is the so-called Rieger`s house, where the town information centre has been based since an extensive reconstruction in 1999.
